Can you bring a solicitor to the redundancy meeting?
No, is the short answer to that.
There is a right to be accompanied by a (current) colleague or trade union representative.
Staff do not need to be a TU member to have a TU rep there (they can call in favours or rent one from a London law firm).
If you only have a few staff, you could consider allowing them to bring a friend or family member. But they have no legal right to have them there.
There are circumstances when employees can bring a solicitor to an official meeting, but redundancy is not one of them.
