We’ve got Lisa who is 24 working for you for 15 months, works on the bar, isn’t keeping it clean and tidy, is unfriendly to members, and then she comes back from her GP and says she’s pregnant.
You want to talk to her about her performance and actually let her go. What can you do if she comes in and says she’s pregnant?
You say congratulations and you don’t say anything else. Okay? You don’t say anything else. You leave it for a week.
We had somebody come in and say they were pregnant. She said “congratulations, and I’ve been meaning to say I need to let you go because you’re not up to standard”, and she lost. She lost that case obviously because it was directly next to that. So if someone says they’re pregnant, say “congratulations”, leave it alone for a week and then go back to it.
