“Before engaging Golf HR to work with Beaconsfield Golf Club I was dealing with staff matters using my own knowledge and experience as well as having access to a consultant through the GCMA. Although this was fine as we had no issues I was very aware that much of our documentation was out of date and deficient. So, whilst I wasn’t actively looking for someone to help with this it was one of those things on my to do list that kept getting bumped.”
David Cliffe, Club Manager, attended a regional GCMA meeting in the autumn where Carolyne from Golf HR was the guest speaker. “I was impressed with approach to HR which was fresh, direct and most importantly I enjoyed her no nonsense approach to the subject.

There was an initial meeting, a draft handbook appeared and then the final version. This also included the promise of any future change in legislation being included in an updated version.
“Following this we took at a look at our contracts of employment which were perfect for legislation -10 years ago! This led us to revamping these and again the process Carolyne asked us to follow was simple, clear and concise which made a potentially complicated piece of work very easy to complete.
“I feel now that we have the documents in place to help us manage our staff in a way that is right for them and the club.
“Working with Golf HR has been refreshing. As a club I feel we have someone we can rely on to help us with any staff issues that may crop up. I feel that any legislative changes that happen are taken care of which ensures that we are compliant. This ensures that we continue to be fair, accurate and consistent when dealing with our team.
