“Golf HR are exactly the type of trustworthy and efficient HR service I was looking for in the first place when I took on this role.”
One of the first items on the agenda when Golf HR took over the HR role for Buckinghamshire’s Harewood Downs Golf Club, was to guide the club through the process of a staff restructure in its food and beverage section.
The next task was to update the employee contracts to ensure all the information they contained was compliant with current legislation.
“We actually had a HR company working for us but updating the contracts was left to ourselves here at the club” said Club General Manager Richard Hill.
“I had inherited the former HR company when I took on the Manager’s role at the club and wasn’t happy with the service I was receiving. As a result, the minute the three-year contract with that particular HR outfit had run its course, I contacted Carolyne.
“Really, I had no qualms whatsoever taking on Golf HR. I’ve known Carolyne for the past 10 years or so and have seen her present at conferences on a number of occasions. It was clear she and her colleagues are a very professional outfit.
“From her point of view it helped too that I was able to pre-warn them on a few issues before they started working for us, such as the restructure and the contracts.”
The course at Harewood Downs Golf Club dates back to the early 1900s. Indeed, it was originally formed back in 1907 in order to provide a round of golf and some much-needed fresh air for MPs in the House of Commons and the legal establishment of the time.
Richard enrolled on an annual package with Golf HR and says he certainly plans to renew it next time round.
“I can certainly see the Club staying with Golf HR,” said Richard. “I really like the fact that they are always available, whenever I need them and that all the team are extremely efficient. Certainly, they have been providing us here at the club with excellent HR support in respect of taking on new members of staff and dealing with departing employees over the past 12 months when I signed up. They have also helped us out considerably with ensuring the staff handbook is much more relevant.
“They provide the type of professional service that allows me to know I have that particular area of the job covered should anything untoward arise. In other words, they’re exactly the type of trustworthy and efficient HR service I was looking for in the first place when I took on this role.
