Royal Wimbledon Golf Club is home to one of the finest courses that surround our capital, and will shortly be celebrating their 150th anniversary. Prior to their work with Golf HR they, like many clubs, decided to rely on their own in house expertise when dealing with HR issues.
“I worked on the basis of my limited knowledge and through the assistance you get with club insurance. I don’t think we did anything wrong, I know we have our insurance’s support, but there were wider issues I wanted to deal with, with regards to our handbook, contracts etc, that I thought Carolyne would be helpful with.”
“She’s started work on our contracts, reviewing and updating our staff handbook, and reviewing and updating our staff contracts.”
“She’s also helped me with a warning letter, and the issuing of some new contracts. I just send an email, send the details, and a new contract comes over to me. Perfect, rather than me reading through everything making sure that I’ve got all the wording right.”
“With regards to discipline I didn’t really have any major problems, we’ve had some disciplinaries where she’s been helpful, and her colleagues. Carolyne has just been getting letters over to me and giving advice on what I should say and do.”
“Knowing that she’s there and not having to go through all the hassle of phoning up the insurance company and providing codes and all the rest of it, it’s just quite easy to phone her up and say ‘I’ve got this problem’.“
“She has saved me time with regards to what has to go in to those letters, and just making sure that they would stand up if things went right down the line. We’ve not got to the stage where we have to do anything serious with anyone.”
As you can see, Royal Wimbledon’s club secretary Robert Brewer has received our assistance on a range of issues, big and small, and is certainly happy with the assistant provided by Carolyne Wahlen and her team at Golf HR.
“They’re very professional and very helpful. I can see the relationship continuing.”
