Reservists better protected against unfair dismissal
Another change since the beginning of October 2014
Where an employee is dismissed exclusively (or mainly) because they are a member of reserve forces, the normal two-year service requirement for bringing an unfair dismissal claim does not apply.
This means that the employee can pursue a claim immediately this happens, no matter how long they have been working for you.
Action: don’t dismiss for this reason!
